When you use SmartStack, your budgets, transactions, and goals live in a secure cloud database tied to your account, protected with row-level security so other users can’t access your rows. That multi-device design is intentional — so your phone and laptop stay in sync. It is not a single-device file product that never syncs.
If you connect a bank (paid plans): we use Plaid for read-only connections. SmartStack never receives your bank username or password and cannot move money.
